- Faculty Fellow in Health Services, Policy and Practice
Description
The Brown University School of Public Health invites applications for a faculty fellows program in the Department of Health Services, Policy and Practice. These faculty positions will be for two years and are nonrenewable with a start date of July 1, 2026. There is special interest in researchers focused on maternal and child health, healthcare corporatization, causal inference, simulation modeling, and pharmaceutical policy, but health services and health policy researchers across a range of interests are encouraged to apply.
The Department of Health Services, Policy & Practice (HSPP) is one of the four School of Public Health departments. It includes eight research centers, a top-ranked doctoral program, and post-doctoral training programs supported by T32s from NIA and AHRQ. HSPP provides an academic home to researchers interested in a wide array of populations, topics, and methods. Active projects range from the impact of private equity, end-of-life care, cross-national comparisons, care delivery, quality of care, disparities, child health, and more. Faculty collaborate with researchers across the School and University, including the School of Medicine, School of Public Health’s Center for Alcohol & Addiction Studies, Center for Health Promotion & Health Equity, Population Studies Training Center, the Institute at Brown for Environment and Society, and the Brown Institute for Translational Science. Many faculty also have appointments at the Providence Veteran’s Administration Medical Center.
Requirements
Applicants must have a doctoral degree (MD or a PhD) and training and experience in health services research, epidemiology, economics, and/or a related discipline. The position is targeted for those completing their graduate or fellowship training. For this position, Brown does not sponsor the H-1B visa classification to scholars who need immigration sponsorship in order to enter the U.S. and commence lawful employment under the terms of their appointment.
There will be no teaching requirements, but fellows could teach if opportunities arose and if there were interest. Fellows would join existing research groups that are aligned with their interests. If permanent faculty positions opened up in the department, fellows would be encouraged to apply.
Interested applicants should submit a letter of application and curriculum vitae through Interfolio at https://apply.interfolio.com/175709. Candidates should address how they would contribute to the research and/or teaching missions of our diverse and inclusive university community.
The application system will open on October 10, 2025. Review of applications will begin on November 1, 2025, and will continue until appropriate candidate(s) are identified or the search is closed.
