Full-Time, Tenure-Track Assistant Professor
Department of Health Services Administration, School of Health Professions
To meet the needs of our expanding programs, the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) School of Health Professions Department of Health Services Administration announces an opening for a full time, tenure-track position at Assistant Professor rank to begin in August 2026.
We seek applications from innovative, motivated, and engaged individuals who are committed to research, teaching, and service in the Department of Health Services Administration. We are particularly interested in candidates with expertise and experience in organizational behavior and leadership. Candidates may also have research and teaching experience in other related healthcare administration topics, including but not limited to management, strategy, human resources, and organizational theory.
The ideal candidate will have earned a terminal degree in a relevant discipline. They will also have an interest and ability to (1) teach organizational behavior or leadership-related courses across undergraduate, masters, and doctoral-level programs, (2) engage in research projects with and provide consultation within their field of discipline to department colleagues and doctoral students, (3) collaborate with health system leaders, clinicians, and policy makers. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Note that consideration will also be given to candidates who will have defended their dissertation and will have their terminal degree conferred no later than June 2026.
